Digital pianos are designed to mimic the sounds of a real acoustic piano, and as such, the higher registers do not sustain for as long as the lower registers.
On an acoustic piano, the higher registers use shorter lengths of wire to create the sound, and as such they do not resonate as much as the longer wires in the lower registers, resulting in less sustain.
