My violin/cello is not making any sound when I play?

We are sorry to hear that your instrument is making little/no sound.

To generate friction and produce sound, the bow hair needs to be coated with Rosin – many beginner violins will include this inside the case/packaging.

If your instrument did not include Rosin, you can browse our selection here.
