Most microphones can be categorised into two types; Dynamic and Condenser.
While Dynamic microphones function when connected to any mic level input, Condenser microphones require +48v phantom power to function correctly.
If your mixer/interface has this feature, it is usually enabled via a button/switch labelled ‘+48v’ or 'Phantom Power'.
If your mixer/interface does not have this feature, you will need to purchase an external phantom power supply to be able to use your microphone.
