Microphone stands and clips have two main thread sizes; 3/8th of an inch, and 7/8th of an inch.
Some microphone stands and clips will include adapters for these two sizes, to ensure compatibility with other stands or clips.
On microphone stands, this can usually be removed by unscrewing the very tip of the microphone stand.
On microphone clips, this is sometimes already inside the clip and will need a coin or screwdriver to unscrew it.
